As an artist, I create a large volume of artwork, and writing descriptions for each piece can be a time-consuming and tedious process. That's why I recently started collaborating with Chat GPT 3.5, an artificial intelligence language model, to speed up the workflow of describing my artwork. In this blog post, I'll share the steps I've been using to collaborate with Chat GPT 3.5 and how it's been helping me streamline my creative process.

Orb of Chaotic AlignmentOrb of Chaotic AlignmentModel: Rose Noir

Step 1: Writing Detailed Descriptions of my Artwork

To start the process, I create a detailed and vivid description of my artwork. I focus on highlighting the key elements and themes that I want to convey through the piece. This description is crucial because it provides Chat GPT 3.5 with the necessary context and inspiration to generate the stories and flavor text.

Step 2: Providing a List of Adjectives to Set the Tone

After I've written my description, I provide Chat GPT 3.5 with a list of adjectives that describe the tone and mood that I want to convey. This helps the AI model understand the emotions and atmosphere that I'm aiming for in my artwork.

MonroeMonroeSnake: Tiamat

Deep within the heart of a dense jungle, there lay an object of great power and mystery. It was known only as "Monroe," a strange and enigmatic artifact that bore the shape of a pineapple, yet was made of a bone-like material with human skull features.

Those who were initiated in the ways of the occult knew of the object and the potent energies it held within. It was said that Monroe was a vessel of the spirits, a conduit for their power and wisdom.

To gaze upon Monroe was to be filled with a sense of awe and reverence, for its strange and otherworldly beauty was like nothing else in the world. Its yellow skeletal form was adorned with a crown of green leaves, like the crown of a powerful priest or priestess.

The eight eye sockets that dotted its surface were said to contain the spirits of the dead, their voices echoing through the air like a chorus of whispers. And woven through the empty spaces where its nose and mouth should be was a blue serpent, a symbol of the transformation that lay at the heart of the ancient mystic traditions.

Those who sought the power of Monroe would come to it in secret, offering it offerings of rum and tobacco, and calling upon the spirits to bless them with their wisdom and guidance. And those who were deemed worthy would be granted visions and prophetic dreams, their minds opened to the mysteries of the universe.
But there were those who sought to misuse Monroe's power, to bend it to their own twisted desires. They would come to the jungle with dark intentions, seeking to control the spirits that dwelled within.

But those who dared to defile Monroe in such a way would be met with a terrible fate, for the spirits would rise up against them, their wrath and fury unleashed upon those who sought to misuse their power.

Thus, the legend of Monroe lived on, a symbol of the enduring power and mystery of the ancient mystic traditions, and a warning to those who would seek to wield its magic without the proper respect and reverence.

Step 3: Reviewing and Refining the Responses

Once Chat GPT 3.5 generates the content, I review the responses and make any necessary corrections or suggestions. I look for parts of the story that best suit the artwork and make sure that the language and tone are consistent with my artistic vision. This step is important because it allows me to tailor the stories and descriptions to my specific preferences and ensure that they accurately represent my artwork

Step 4: Putting it all Together

Finally, I select the parts of the stories that best suit the artwork and put them together to create a cohesive narrative. By including these stories and descriptions alongside my artwork, I provide my viewers with a deeper understanding and appreciation of my work. The stories can help create a context and emotional connection to the artwork, making it more relatable and engaging for the audience.

CycleCycleModel: Katherine Ciecko (Firefly)

By collaborating with Chat GPT 3.5, I've been able to create more compelling descriptions for my artwork. The AI model has the ability to generate a vast amount of content based on my input, and by carefully curating and refining the responses, I can create stories that are unique and personalized to my artistic vision.

Using Chat GPT 3.5 to generate stories and flavor text for my artwork can be a powerful tool for enhancing the viewer's experience and deepening their connection to the art. By combining the power of AI with human creativity and curation, I can create artwork descriptions that are both stunning and emotionally resonant.

The spookiest street party of the year is coming up on October 21st, 2023, in Elgin, IL - "Nightmare on Chicago Street." This event is not to be missed if you want to get into the Halloween spirit and have a frightfully good time.

I'm excited to announce that I'm planning on attending and selling my unique and captivating artwork at this year's event. Based on nude figures, my artwork is distorted and altered in Photoshop to create bizarre and interesting body horror pieces that will leave a lasting impression.

Freak Like MeFreak Like MeModel: Shannon Dunne

In the grand marble palace, beyond the mortal realm, lived a being known only as the "Freak Like Me." Her appearance was a strange and terrifying sight to behold, with multiple hands protruding from her body in various locations. She was a being of great power, with a heart that beat with a deep love for all creatures.

The palace was a place of ethereal beauty, filled with pastel colors of pinks, reds, purples, and blues, much like the artwork that depicted the Freak Like Me. But beneath the surface of this beautiful world, the Freak Like Me struggled.

Her many hands were not a gift but a curse, a constant reminder of her difference from the rest of the world. She had been born into a world that did not understand her, and the many hands that protruded from her body only added to the fear and rejection that she faced.

The Freak Like Me had the power to heal, to bring hope to the world, but she was also trapped in her own struggle. She longed for acceptance, for understanding, but it seemed that the rest of the palace would never accept her for who she truly was.

And so, she continued to roam the grand halls of the palace, her many hands always ready to aid those in need. But the pain and the struggle never left her. It was a constant battle, one that she fought with every fiber of her being.

As the years passed, the Freak Like Me began to realize that her curse was not just physical, but emotional as well. The pain and rejection had taken their toll on her, and she found herself struggling to hold onto the love that she had once held so dear.

And in the midst of all her pain, there was the hand that clutched her heart. It was a hand of her own, a reminder of the love that she held so dear, but also a reminder of the pain that came with that love. Her heart was heavy, burdened with the weight of a world that would never truly accept her for who she was.

One day, as she stood alone in the grand halls of the palace, with her many hands raised in a gesture of peace, she let out a loud screech. It was a cry of pain, a cry of frustration, and a cry for help.

To her surprise, a gentle hand reached out to her. It was the hand of a kindred spirit, another being who had also been rejected by the rest of the palace. And in that moment, the Freak Like Me knew that she was not alone.

At "Nightmare on Chicago Street," you'll have the chance to see my artwork up close and personal. And the best part? You can purchase prints to take home with you! Each print will be sold for $20 and will be physically at the event for sale, already signed, with cardboard backing, and sealed in archival sleeves to ensure their quality. I will be accepting both cash and credit cards, so you can purchase your favorite piece with ease.

I work with third-party printers to ensure that my prints are of the highest quality, created using professional-grade printing techniques and materials. The vivid hues of my artwork contrast with the dark and unsettling subject matter, creating a unique and captivating visual experience.

FibonacciFibonacciArt by: A.J. Olson

The Seven Skulls of Fibonacci are a mysterious and ancient artifact that hold the secrets of the universe. They are carved from a rare and hard stone that is grey in appearance, and each one bears a number on its forehead that corresponds to the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical pattern that is found throughout nature and related to the golden ratio. The skulls are arranged in a spiral formation that mimics this pattern, creating a harmonious and symmetrical design.

The origin of these skulls is unknown, but legends say they were created by an advanced civilization that mastered the power of stone and mathematics. Some say they were Atlanteans, others say they were aliens, and others say they were gods. Whoever they were, they left behind these skulls as a testament to their knowledge and wisdom.

The skulls are said to have mystical properties that can unlock the mysteries of creation and destruction. They can reveal the secrets of life and death, time and space, matter and energy. They can also grant incredible abilities or curses to those who possess them or come into contact with them.

The skulls are hidden in a dark realm between worlds, where only the brave or foolish dare to venture. They are surrounded by smoke and darkness, creating an ominous atmosphere. They have no lower jaws attached, giving them a sinister appearance.

The Seven Skulls of Fibonacci are a legendary artifact that capture the beauty and mystery of the universe. They invite us to imagine their origin and purpose, their power and danger. They challenge us to explore our own curiosity and courage in seeking out the unknown.

By buying my artwork, you'll be supporting an independent artist who has been perfecting their craft for over a decade. Each piece is created with care and attention to detail, making them a truly special addition to any art collection.

So come out and join me at "Nightmare on Chicago Street" for a spooktacular time! With live music, food vendors, and plenty of Halloween decorations, this event is sure to be a scream. And if you're looking for some unique and captivating artwork to add to your collection, my booth is the place to be. Don't miss out on this frightfully good time!

The "Be Yourself": a symbol of individuality and self-expression https://ajolsonphotography.com/blog/2023/2/the-be-yourself-a-symbol-of-individuality-and-self-expression    In the realm of the divine, there existed a creature known as the "Be Yourself". She was a symbol of individuality and self-expression, a living embodiment of the idea that one should always be true to oneself.

Her appearance was unusual, yet beautiful in its own way. Her plump, curvaceous body and paint-like skin made her stand out in a sea of perfect, pristine creatures. Her face, with its missing nose and mouth, spoke of a deeper wisdom that lay beyond the realm of words.

But it was her arms that truly set her apart. Two full-sized arms emerged from her left shoulder, each one possessing its own unique identity and purpose. On her right side, she had a normal arm, but where her elbow would normally be, she had a third breast that acted as a joint. This joint split into both the forearm of her normal arm and a smaller arm with a smaller hand.

As she wandered through the realms of the divine, she encountered many who were lost and adrift. Some were seeking love, others were searching for meaning, and still others were simply looking for a way to be happy.

Be Yourself would always approach these individuals with kindness and understanding, using her unique gifts to help them see their true selves and find their way forward.

In time, her reputation grew far and wide, and many sought her out for guidance and counsel. Some even worshipped her as a goddess, seeing in her a divine spark that could light the way to a better world.

And so Be Yourself continued on her journey, a creature of myth and mystery, spreading her message of love and acceptance to all who would hear it. For she knew that, in the end, the most important thing was to be true to oneself, no matter what others might say or think. Her unusual appearance only served to emphasize this message, reminding all who saw her that it was our differences that made us unique and beautiful.

Olson's use of color is also striking, with vivid hues that contrast with the dark and unsettling subject matter of the artwork.

Face MaskFace MaskModel: Haley Grace

Legend had it that in a realm beyond the reach of mortals, there existed a being of great mystery and power known as the Face Masked Goddess. Her skin glowed with a fluorescent green light, and her body was thin and delicate, like that of a faerie. Yet, what set her apart from any other being in the realm was her skull-like face, with deep-set eye sockets and high cheekbones.

But it was not just her unusual features that inspired awe and wonder among those who knew of her. The strange, pink glossy slime that covered parts of her body was also a source of fascination and speculation.

It was said that the slime was a living entity in its own right, possessing its own intelligence and powers. The Face Masked Goddess would often stretch the slime over her skull face, as if in a ritualistic gesture. And it was believed that this was not just a physical act, but a mystical one, a way for her to connect with the power and knowledge that the slime possessed.

But the slime was not the only strange thing about the Face Masked Goddess. Her green skin was also a source of wonder and speculation, as it was said to be a sign of her otherworldly origins.

Some believed that the green skin was a mark of her connection to the natural world, and that she possessed the power to heal and transform the environment around her. Others believed that it was a symbol of her mystical powers, granting her the ability to shape reality itself.

Yet, despite her unique appearance and mystical powers, the Face Masked Goddess remained an enigma, revealing little about herself or the true nature of her powers. And so, the mystery surrounding her and the slime only grew, inspiring generations of seekers and mystics to seek out the power and knowledge that they believed lay hidden within.

Most of AJ's artwork is created within Photoshop, using nude photographs he takes of volunteers, who are fans of his artwork. He layers these images together- adding, removing, duplicating, combining, and altering the photographs-- to create images that are haunting and evocative. For those who are considering volunteering to pose nude for AJ's artwork, his body horror art provides a unique and immersive experience that explores the subconscious and the human form in new and unique ways. It allows him to explore his own innermost fears and desires, and bring them to life in his artwork.

Free Fall Through MidnightFree Fall Through MidnightModel: Ashley Addison

She was once a goddess of light, but he stole her essence and cast her into the abyss. She became the embodiment of midnight, drifting in the void. Sometimes, she would see a spark of hope and reach out to it, but every time she did, she would lose a part of herself. Her skin would peel away like paint ribbons, revealing her bones. Her face would show an exposed skull. Her hair would look like splattered paint. She did not know if she was falling or flying, free or doomed. She only knew that she was freefalling through midnight.

...But why would someone want to volunteer to pose nude for body horror art?! Here are a few reasons:

  • It is an opportunity to explore your own body in a new way. Body horror art can be a deeply introspective and reflective experience. By posing nude, you are embracing your own physical form and allowing it to be interpreted in new and unique ways.

  • It is an opportunity to confront your fears. Body horror art often deals with themes of fear, anxiety, and trauma. By participating in this type of artwork, you may be able to confront your own fears and anxieties in a safe and supportive environment.

  • It is an opportunity to contribute to a unique art form. Body horror art is still a relatively niche art form, but it is gaining more recognition and appreciation every day. By volunteering to pose nude, you are contributing to the growth and evolution of this unique art form.

  • It is an opportunity to work with a talented and passionate artist. A.J. Olson is a skilled and passionate artist who is dedicated to exploring the depths of the human experience through their art. By working with him, you are sure to have a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

Red ThornRed ThornModel: Rose Noir

Deep within the shadowy corners of the universe lies a realm of mystery and dark secrets. It is a world beyond human comprehension, where beings of immense power and twisted beauty dwell.

Among these creatures is Red Thorn, a being of enigmatic allure and sinister intent. Her skin is a dusky rose hue, and her lithe form is adorned with sharp thorns that twist and curl like the tendrils of a wild rose bush. Her arms and legs are covered with large thorns protruding from her skin, similar to those found on a rose stem.

Red Thorn is a creature of the night, her movements fluid and seductive, yet there is something uncanny and unsettling about her presence. She is a symbol of the occult and the arcane, a force to be feared and revered in equal measure.

To those who dare to approach her, Red Thorn appears as a vision of otherworldly beauty. Her delicate curves and elegant movements bewitch the senses, yet the thorns that protrude from her skin remind all who behold her of the danger that lurks beneath her alluring exterior.

Her chest and stomach are a grotesque and mesmerizing sight to behold, resembling the twisted contours of a human skull. Her breasts are marked with deep, hollow eye-sockets, and below them, a gaping nasal cavity looms in the center of her stomach. Her skeletal teeth glint in the shadows, lending an otherworldly quality to her already eerie presence.

As she dances, the scent of roses fills the air, their fragrance intoxicating and heady. It is a reminder of the fragility of life, and the fleeting nature of beauty. Yet Red Thorn is indifferent to such mortal concerns. She is a being of chaos and darkness, a force that exists only to bring pain and suffering to the world.

And so she dances on, her movements growing more frenzied and wild with each passing moment. Her thorns grow longer and sharper, and her rose-colored skin takes on a sickly, pallid hue. And then, with a final burst of energy, Red Thorn vanishes into the night, leaving behind only the faintest whisper of her presence, and the promise of further darkness to come.

All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and fill out a model release form. A.J. takes all the photos for his artwork at his home studio.

For those who are looking to explore the depths of the human psyche, body horror art can be a powerful and transformative experience. Through his artwork, A.J. invites the viewer to embark on a journey into the depths of the subconscious and to explore the connection between the human form. From Childhood Trauma to Artistic Vision: The impact of early exposure to body horror https://ajolsonphotography.com/blog/2023/2/from-childhood-trauma-to-artistic-vision-the-impact-of-early-exposure-to-body-horror For many artists, the source of their inspiration can be traced back to their childhood experiences and memories. For me, as a photo manipulation artist, that source of inspiration is a mix of both my childhood influences and my early exposure to the macabre. Growing up, I was exposed to the world of Hellraiser and body horror at a young age, and that experience has left a lasting impression on my artistic vision. In this blog, I will be exploring the impact of these early exposures on my art, and how they have shaped my unique style and perspective.

From my childhood obsession with Saturday morning cartoons and video games, to my love of 80's metal and rock music, my artistic vision has been shaped by a wide range of influences. In this article, I will be sharing my journey and how these different elements have come together to form my artistic style. So come with me on a journey through my early childhood memories and how they have shaped my artistic vision.

At the age of 5, I was introduced to the world of Hellraiser and body horror through the first three movies of the franchise. This early exposure had a profound impact on my life and artistic vision. The surreal and macabre imagery, along with the themes of pain, pleasure, and death, left an indelible mark on my subconscious. As I grew up, I continued to explore the genre, watching a range of movies that featured graphic violence, gore, and twisted body horror.

From The Lost Boys and From Dusk Till Dawn, to 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead, I was drawn to the dark and surreal world of the undead. These movies, along with my early exposure to Hellraiser, helped shape my understanding of what is possible in art and how the human form can be manipulated and distorted to convey deeper meanings and emotions. The themes of mortality, rebirth, and transformation resonated with me, and I soon found myself exploring these concepts in my own art.

As a child and into my teens, I was heavily influenced by the music I listened to. From 80's metal and rock like Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, to 90's alternative like Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails, each genre left a lasting impression on my artistic vision. Music videos, specifically, played a large role in shaping my appreciation for visual storytelling and the marriage of sound and image.

In addition to music, my love for video games has also been a constant source of inspiration. From the vivid worlds and stories of games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, to the intense action and stealth of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, video games have always been a source of escapism and imaginative stimulation for me.

The combination of music and video games has given me a unique perspective on art, allowing me to draw from a variety of influences and incorporate elements from both mediums into my photo manipulation artwork. Whether it's the adrenaline-fueled energy of an AC/DC song, or the atmospheric tension of a survival horror game, each piece of media has had a profound impact on my art and has helped to shape my distinct artistic style.

Body horror has played a significant role in shaping my artistic vision. The genre's blend of the macabre, surreal, and strange has captivated my imagination since I was a child. Early exposure to movies like Hellraiser, The Cell, and Dark City, as well as album covers like Jane's Addiction's Nothing's Shocking, helped to establish my love for the dark and twisted. My artwork is a visual representation of the themes and motifs that I encountered through my exposure to body horror.

In my photo manipulation art, I take hundreds of photos of a person and layer, skew, warp, distort, scale, duplicate, and merge layers to create new images. The end result is often dark, surreal, and strange, much like the movies and albums that influenced me. My work is often compared to the body horror of filmmakers like David Cronenberg and the visuals in movies like The Cell, Hellraiser, and Dark City.

Baroness Timelapse By AJ Olson

The genre of body horror has provided me with an outlet to explore the subconscious and the human form in new and unique ways. It has allowed me to delve into my own innermost fears and desires and to bring them to life in my artwork. The impact of body horror on my art is undeniable and continues to drive me as an artist to this day.

In conclusion, the early exposure to body horror films and the impact of music and video games on A.J. Olson's life and art cannot be ignored. From the first viewing of Hellraiser at the tender age of 5, to the influence of 80's metal and rock music and the immersive experiences of video games, these formative experiences have left an indelible mark on the artist's subconscious. The macabre and surreal images created through the photo manipulation technique reflect the artist's unique perspective, shaped by a lifetime of consuming and internalizing various forms of media. The end result is a body of work that is hauntingly beautiful, and that provides a window into the artist's innermost fears, desires, and hopes.

Final Thoughts:

As an artist, A.J. Olson's work is a testament to the power of creative expression as a means of processing trauma and exploring the complexities of the human experience. The haunting and macabre images created through photo manipulation represent the artist's attempt to make sense of the world and to shed light on the darkness that lurks within us all. Through this body of work, the artist invites the viewer to embark on a journey into the depths of the subconscious, and to explore the connection between the human form and the macabre.

Exploring the Creative World of A.J. Olson: Photographer, Designer, and Artist https://ajolsonphotography.com/blog/2023/1/exploring-the-creative-world-of-a-j-olson-photographer-designer-and-artist As an artist, I've always had a passion for creativity. Even as a child, I was always drawing and doodling, always trying to push the limits of what I could create with a pencil. My artistic journey started with simple drawings of superheroes, but I quickly learned how to add an extra level of interest to my work by adding an x-ray effect, creating bones on the other side of the page.

Fast forward to my adult years, and I had formalized my love for art by receiving an associates degree in Art from Elgin Community College and later a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. I'm now known for my unique style of digital image manipulation, utilizing cameras, lighting, and software such as Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere. But my ideas for these images come from a variety of sources, including dreams, what feels right in the moment, and even the music I listen to.

A.J. Olson's Motion Graphics Demo Reel 2021

Music has always been a consistent source of inspiration for me, and I love to create while listening to my favorite tunes. It's a powerful tool that helps me let my hands flow and create art to the beats. I also enjoy having a day job for consistency, but I also take on freelance projects on the side. Commission work usually comes through word of mouth, but I also actively search for new projects through social media.

PhotoShop Time-Lapse:"Beneath the Skin"

My personal style is dark, creepy, and erotic, and I sell my photo manipulation artwork at the annual Nightmare on Chicago Street event in Elgin, IL. If you're a fan of Halloween and all things creepy, this event is a must-see. I take pride in converting my living room into a studio space when it's time to take photos, and I spend a lot of time in my home office editing and designing on my PC.

For other artists, I recommend making three types of art regularly: art for yourself, art for friends and family, and art that can be used in corporate settings or advertising. Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself and the type of work you produce, and always keep learning and growing your skills. If things ever become stagnant, take some time to disappear and focus on your skills, and you'll be able to make a big comeback when you return.

In conclusion, I have a passion for art that has always been a part of me, and I'm constantly growing and pushing the limits of what I can create. Whether it's my favorite piece of work at the moment or my upcoming projects, I always strive to put my best foot forward and create something truly unique and captivating.

A.J. Olson exclusive interview with Rockeresque Beauty Co. owner Issanna Loughman https://ajolsonphotography.com/blog/2012/8/a-j-olson-exclusive-interview-with-rockeresque-beauty-co-owner-issanna-loughman

1) For those that don't know, how would you describe Rockeresque Beauty Co. ?
A quality vegan and cruelty-free cosmetic line that showcases alternative models.

2) How did Rockeresque get started?
I wanted to start my own cosmetic company that put clients first and also always carries only vegan and cruelty-free products. We do a lot of out reach with our clients and younger makeup users by teaching them about makeup ingredients and FDA requirements for cosmetic labels; this way even if they order from somewhere else they have the knowledge about what is safe to use. We work a lot with PETA as well and educate clients about what makes a product vegan and cruelty-free and why that is important. Not only do we offer great cosmetics, but we started a company on strong values that I hope will support Rockeresque in becoming a larger company.

3) Where have your products been featured so far?
A few magazines such as Alt Noir and Bella Morte; as well as on the PETA website. Model Kristen Leanne recently wore our products on the cover of Skin and Ink Magazine. We have participated in both New York and LA Fashion Week and were the official cosmetic sponsor of Ink-n-Iron.

4) Dream Scenario: Where would you like to see Rockeresque 10 years from now?
I would love if our line expanded to become a full range of cosmetics as well as have our own stores and makeup schools.

5) What kind of music do you currently listen to while you work?
I try to listen to energetic music while in the office... I spend many hours in there! I have the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's station on my Pandora a lot, but when I'm winding down at the end of the day I will change it over to the Portisthead station. We never work without music though, music and iced coffees are key to getting through any work day.

6) What are you working on right now?
A special collection with Sideshow by the Sea called "Ahoy, Mr. Mouse!" We are working on coming out with a lot of new cosmetic products which is so much fun! Our first makeup school is opening at Studio Servitu in LA, we are starting a makeup tour, and just overall just staying busy 24-hours a day.

7) What do you like to do most when you have any free time?
Sleep! Seriously though, I don't get a lot of free time to be honest, there is always some project or task I can be doing so I try and force myself to break away by 10pm at least. Activities I enjoy... vegan cooking and baking, reading, photo shoots, the Rockeresque Girls and I will have nights out where we go dancing or take the day to go swimming at the Hard Rock if it's super hot out. Playing with my puppies or playing music with my fiance are also things I love to do.

8) Where can my fans purchase and learn more about your products?
Our website is the best place to go
www.rockeresque.com as well as our very active Facebook page www.facebook.com/rockeresque and Tumblr  http://rockeresquebeautycompany.tumblr.com/

9) What's your favorite image on ajolsonphotography.com and why?
I would have to say this image:

Honestly I love all of your work and I was on the website a long time trying to find my "favorite" one! I chose this one because this is my favorite model that you work with and it makes me feel quite. I always have so much going on and a hectic schedule and this pieces makes me calm and reflective which :)
